Roles & Responsibilities

A strategic planner (also referred to as an account planner, digital strategist, etc.) is responsible for using experienced account planning techniques and the latest and most innovative methods for obtaining customer insight. That means this job requires conducting frequent qualitative and quantitative research - both secondary and primary. The digital strategist must be familiar with (working knowledge) multiple tactics of digital marketing – web development, digital media planning, search marketing (PPC & SEO), social media, mobile marketing, email marketing to name a few. She/He should also have the ability to visualize a single view of the consumer across ATL/BTL touch points. The planner will work closely with the local office account teams and Business Heads to identify business development opportunities. The role requires an innovative thinker who can create ideas that bridge web, mobile, creative and digital media and provide solutions to drive growth opportunities. The Digital Marketing Strategist must be ahead of the curve when it comes to digital trends. It is important to be able to see the digital future and understand consumer behavior in order to effectively develop creative solutions that unify brand goals and consumer’s needs.

Requirements

  • Min. education - Bachelor's degree
  • Exposure to areas of advertising and PR, experience is a plus
  • A previous stint with a mainline creative or media agency would be preferred
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of brand positioning and industry trends
  • Deep understanding and familiarity with technology and technology trends
  • Must be able to handle numerous projects at one time and meet fast turnaround deadlines
  • Ability to track results and ROI
  • Team leadership skills
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Knowledge of the "Creative Brief" process
  • Good PPT skills (ability to create powerful, lucid, precise presentations)

Typical Day

  • Conduct research using various methods
  • Monitor social media and other digital campaigns
  • Meetings with account executives to address new business opportunities as well as new ways to develop business
  • Innovation of profitable method to utilize new media platforms
  • Lead new pitches
